Mud Day
June 10th, 2023 9:00AM - 12:00PM
Join us for the messiest fun you can imagine! Squish in the mud, make mud pies in our mud kitchen, explore Magic Mud and other gooey concoctions.
Wear a bathing suit or old clothes and bring a towel and a change of clothes. We'll have a rinsing area to clean off.
New Hanover Soil and Water Conservation will also be here sharing about different kinds of soils in our area! And, Cape Fear Public Utility Authority will join us to create DIY water filters.
Why Mud?
Children learn about the world by touching, tasting, smelling, seeing, and hearing. Sensory play during Mud Day contributes to brain development! The different materials we'll play with have various attributes like dryness, wetness, rough textures, smooth textures, etc. that might be a first step in classification or sorting.
